The country singer Garth Brooks stayed on the road together with his wife Trisha Yearwood for more or less three years. More than six million people witnessed their world tour in Canada and the United States alone. According to the reports, the tour grossed $364.3 million.
The Irish rock band U2 is one of the crowd’s favorite. Almost all of their tours are sold out, and people are always asking for more. The band had 131 live concerts in their Vertigo Tour which started in 2005 and ended in 2006, and their 360° Tour which took place between 2009 and 2011 grossed $736.4 million all throughout their 110 performances.
Madonna’s unique style in her live performances is the reason why fans look forward to seeing her on stage.
The Queen of Pop’s Sticky and Sweet Tour which ran from 2008 until 2009 earned $407.7 million. It was her eight music tour and defined as the pop star’s rock-driven dancetastic journey consisting of 85 concerts.
Another crowd’s favorite is the British rock band Coldplay which are well known for their colorful acts on stage, and high-energy performances. Their most-recent A Head Full of Dreams World Tour had 114 performances across the globe to promote their newest album, and it grossed $523 million.
They were on the road for a year, and the tour featured their three-night concert at the Stade de France in front of 236,000 people.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran proved that he could nail a world tour even if his acoustic guitar was all he had on stage.
In fact, his Divide Concert Tour has already generated $750 million. By the time his tour ends sometime in August, Sheeran would have already dominated all seven continents and broke U2’s record for having the highest-grossing concert tour.
