Over 37,000 Fans Get Cruise Tickets at Zac Brown Band’s Fenway Show

A record-setting night at Boston’s Fenway Park became even more memorable when Zac Brown Band surprised concertgoers with an unexpected gift.

During the group’s 15th consecutive sold-out performance at the historic venue on Sunday, Aug. 2, more than 37,000 fans learned they would receive a cruise for two.

A Surprise for Fenway Fans

The giveaway came during the Zac Brown Band’s latest Fenway Park concert, which also set a new milestone for the group at the venue. According to a press release, the cruise giveaway was valued at more than $40 million and set a record for the largest surprise audience gifting in live entertainment history.

Lead singer Zac Brown, 48, revealed the news from the stage before the band performed its 2021 song “Same Boat.”

“Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy,” Brown said. “I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat. This is the biggest giveaway in history, ladies and gentlemen, right here tonight at Fenway Park!”

The cruise is connected to Margaritaville at Sea, which worked with the band to arrange the large-scale giveaway. Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea, said the event provided a way to recognize fans who have supported Brown throughout his career.

“We were honored to work alongside Zac to help bring this incredible surprise to life for his fans,” Ivy said. “This was an extraordinary way to thank the fans who have supported him throughout his career, and we’re proud to have helped make that incredible vision a once-in-a-lifetime reality.”

Fenway Record Continues

The Aug. 2 performance marked Zac Brown Band’s 15th straight sellout at Fenway Park. The band also holds the venue record for the most tickets sold for a single show, according to the release.

The group began its 27-date Love & Fear U.S. Tour in July. The tour is scheduled to finish Nov. 21 in Rosemont, Illinois.

Cruise giveaways are also planned at every tour stop, with four cruises being awarded at each show. The cruises will take place aboard Beachcomber, a new Margaritaville at Sea ship scheduled to debut in January 2027.

Beachcomber will feature Same Boat, an artist-curated live music venue co-designed by Zac Brown. The venue takes its name from Brown’s 2021 collaboration with the late Jimmy Buffett. It is planned as the ship’s main live entertainment space, with live performances, craft cocktails, Southern hospitality, and concert-style acoustics.

The Fenway concert also comes as founding band member John Driskell Hopkins continues performing while living with an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis.

In a late-July interview with Fox News, Hopkins, 55, discussed his work on the road and how he has adapted his performances.

“I’m almost busier now than I was before because I’m trying to get so much done,” Hopkins said. “I’m tryin’ to fit it all in … I’m still on tour with Zac Brown Band right now. You know, my fingers work. My voice works. It’s been compromised, but most of the set, no one would notice. And I’m playing different things on stage, but they still make sense.”

The Boston concert combined a major career milestone with a large audience giveaway and continued touring plans. With the Love & Fear tour running through November, Zac Brown Band’s Fenway Park achievement remains one of the standout moments of its 2026 schedule.
